So, I haven't been writing much lately. Not really in the right kind of headspace, unfortunately.
Still, I've been lurking around DA a bit, and it's great to see so much wonderful art being made. Feel free to drop in and say hi

Once more unto the breach
Well, it's been almost a year since my last journal entry, and it hasn't been a good one. Unfortunately, I became a victim of the recession a few months ago, as the consultancy I moved here to work for couldn't afford to renew my contract.
Hence, I shall shortly be moving to greener pastures. London is my preferred destination, being the political heart of the UK, but I am applying for positions pretty widely, so there are a few other major UK cities where I might end up. Moving day is planned for sometime in late August or early September, so I have a couple of months yet to make concrete plans.
Ongoing
Another big afternoon of running through my DevArt backlog, again apologies for not getting around to it before now. Plenty of great stuff, too!
Two new politics-orientated Devians have now been posted; my "Hominis Dei" series of short stories is now work-in-progress, and I should be posting the first one this week. The whole series is based on the excellent art of alexiuss (https://www.deviantart.com/alexiuss)
I've settled into Newcastle quite well, but the social side of things continues to be vexing. Work has proved to be somewhere where I'm not going to meet new drinking buddies (small office, everyone else has family etc, usual issues for a small company), so I'm hopi
Work/life balance
Well, I've been living in Newcastle for nearly two months now. Beyond the daily grind of my job, life is proving somewhat vexing. Though I am managing to get out much more than when I was living in Lancashire, as yet I haven't had chance to really develop a social life. Part of the problem is that the company I now work for is rather small and is simply the kind of business where there's so much going on that socialising isn't a real option. Hence I'm trying to explore other avenues to develop a life around here - I'm thinking of trying a book club, maybe taking some classes, that kind of thing. Though it does remain to be seen how things wil
All hands to the pump
Success!
Finally, a good job with a public affairs company. Indeed, the position I've been offered is better than the one I had been expecting. What is more, they want me to start as soon as humanly possible. So now I'm frantically engaged in flathunting in Newcastle, and I'm expecting to move within the next couple of weeks.
All of this also means that I'm feeling much better about life in general than in recent times. Thus, though I may be a little short on free time in the near future, I am much more likely to use it constructively and get around to writing something.
Finally, thanks to all for your good wishes these last few days, and

PS. I will get around to attending another of the quiz nights. Scarborough isn't -that- far away.
